The Howard, a Georgian, 5-star boutique hotel in Edinburgh, is licensed to conduct civil partnership ceremonies. These are held in The Atholl room: an intimate, romantic venue in which to exchange your vows. Participants stand in front of the original, marble Georgian fireplace, which has an inspiring mural hanging over it by David Ramsay Hay, one of Scotland's most important decorative painters of the 19^th century.

After the civil partnership ceremony we suggest popping some corks, or perhaps raising a cocktail, in the Drawing Room, beneath the sparkling chandelier, before dining in The Atholl or the Oval and Cumberland suites: all elegant, atmospheric venues for a celebration to remember.

At The Howard, a dedicated Event Coordinator will help you and your partner plan every aspect of your special day. We offer full, personalised service and pay particular attention to detail, from planning your celebration menu to arranging your accommodation in one of 18 individually decorated luxury bedrooms and suites. For your first night, we would recommend a romantic four-poster bed or one of our sumptuous terraced suites.
