The Howard Hotel Independent Reviews Edinburgh

The level of service is exceptional at The Howard and the whole experience is extremely personal without being remotely invasive. The food is utterly delicious, so much so, we would have happily eaten there every evening if we had not been attending an event elsewhere. There is a definite old world charm about the hotel, the staff and all it offers. We have not enjoyed a stay in a hotel so much since our honeymoon. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for any of the staff, in fact, they seemed delighted to be able to help at any opportunity. We loved our room and found it very clean, extremely comfortable and full of lovely fresh, fluffy towels, Penhaligons goodies, plenty of hot water and the perfect gin and tonic via room service. In our opinion, The Howard is a fabulous hotel that is doing everything to give it's guests the most enjoyable and memorable stay. I would more than happily recommend it to anyone, in fact, we have already done so and been singing it's praises ever since our stay.

Booked a two day stay at The Howard last week and was so impressed with the hotel and staff service that we booked a further night. Nothing was too much for the staff and can honestly say can't wait to return. We particularly enjoyed the home-made shortbread that came with the tea or coffee brought up to our room after a long day seeing the sites of Edinburgh- a nice touch. Evening meal in the Atholl was a truly pleasurable experience, excellent food in a great atmosphere, the highlight of our holiday. Staff went the extra mile and we were made to feel valued and special.Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and have already spoke highly of it to friends and family.

My hubby and I spent our honeymoon at The Howard last April and returned this year for our first anniversary. What can we say?? Everything was exceptional… the service, staff, location, accommodation… We were upgraded to the same suite we had last year, which is a fantastic surprise and just as amazing as we had remembered! Nothing was too much trouble and we loved every moment. A big thank you to everyone there for making our anniversary so special… we will certainly be back!

we were married at the howard in october 2009 and the service from nikki and all the staff on the runup and preperation was FANTASTIC!! i would recomend them to everyone (and i do). We stayed the night before the wedding and they couldnt do enough for us, ironing and helping us set everything up. on the day we enjoyed a massage session arranged by the hotel, the ceremony, a small champagne buffet for our 4 guests then and intimate inroom dinner. the chocolates and rose petals set of the end of a beautiful day and all thanks to the staff at the howard. We were married in the Howard and I stayed there the night before the wedding with my family. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I felt like the queen! The staff were so attentive without being in your face. My sister's skirt needed to be ironed and the butler ironed it for her! My sisters and I had our hair and make up done in our suite the morning of the wedding and it was so relaxing not having to leave my room. My husband and I stayed at the hotel on our wedding night and when we returned to our room we were overwhelmed to see that the staff had left rose petals in the bath and on the bed. So sweet!
