Edinburgh Hotel Afternoon High Tea

Invented by the seventh Duchess of Bedford to curb her hunger pangs between breakfast and dinner back in the 1800's, afternoon tea has become quite the thing to do when enjoying a leisurely hour or two. Escape from the heat or the maddening Summer crowds whilst spending an hour or two relaxing over tea with friends.

A selection of sandwiches on wholemeal & country white bread:
Free range egg & cress
Red onion jam & Mull of Kintyre cheddar
Parma ham & fig roulade
Cucumber & mint
Hot smoked salmon, black pepper & lemon mayonnaise

Home made plain & sultana scones with clotted cream and preserves
Mini strawberry tart
Coffee & pecan roulade
Chocolate Moelleux
Lemon Drizzle Cake
Rum & raisin fudge
Trifle

Served with a selection of loose leaf teas or freshly ground coffee
